There is no denying that most Flash Web Sites are very cool and pleasing to the eye. The experience of being on a well designed flash web site can be awesome. However, there are major problems with having a flash web site:

Most search engines will stop reading the page content when it runs into a flash element, which most have at the top of a web page or to the immediate left side of a page. This typically renders your page content useless.

If you want to pay the money for both web formats, and the update / maintenance fees associated with them, sure why not. But there are pitfalls to doing this also.

Most companies who opt to have both types of web sites together typically use an entrance page to allow visitors to choose which site they want to use. First of all, search engines hate entrance (or doorway) pages. There is little information on them, and are very poor for optimization.
