Believe it or not, there are actually companies out
there which want this. If you are not one of these
types of companies, then a flash web site is not

as long as you use the flash web site, you will most
likely make changes along the way, which will in turn

Flash web sites can be so attractive, you become blinded
to the economics and highly diminished visibility of a

must mean its better right? In this case... 100%...

Use Flash in an HTML or DHTLM Web Site?
Absolutely. But like Flash Web Sites, search engines
still have a problem with flash elements. Most search
engines will stop reading the page content when it runs
into a flash element, which most have at the top of a
web page or to the immediate left side of a page. This
typically renders your page content useless.
But all is
not lost. There is a way to overcome this obstacle of

code you put before and after the flash element which
tells the search engines to simply jump over the flash
element, so that it does not even notice the flash
element is there, which allows your web page text to be
seen correctly.

an HTML and Flash Web Site Option?
If you want to pay the money for both web formats, and
the update / maintenance fees associated with them, sure
why not. But there are pitfalls to doing this also.
Most
companies who opt to have both types of web sites
together typically use an entrance page to allow
visitors to choose which site they want to use. First of
all, search engines hate entrance (or doorway) pages.
There is little information on them, and are very poor
for optimization.
If your
consumers choose to enter the Flash Web Site instead of
the HTML site, you fall into the same pitfalls of having
only a Flash web site, because you are not getting the
traffic on your HTML site which you need for better
search engine rankings.
